I’ve been meeting a lot of new people at my kids’ activities lately – scouts, soccer, etc. etc.
I chat with them but most of the conversation surrounds kids and our recent move to the area. I get a raising of eyebrows when I tell them the stories of selling our house before we found a house here.
So happy we made it through that stress.
If the conversation doesn’t come around to “What do you do?” then that question doesn’t get answered.
I think afterwards that maybe it was a missed opportunity. I also don’t want to come across as desperate.
What is your experience, do you “sell yourself” as much as possible in face to face interactions OR do you wait for that topic to “come up”?
