That’s a question that came up in a coaching session yesterday.
She’s new around here and looking to grow and learn from people on LinkedIn.
Know what my response was?
“I love when people look at my profile!”
That’s right.
I don’t think of those people as lurkers.
I think of those people as potential relationships.
After all I told her, “If you put all this work into your profile then wouldn’t you want people to check you out?”
When in doubt, send that personalized message, make that observation about that person’s profile, find something that you can relate to.
I was there. Back in 2017, I was only connected to people I knew. Then I started expanding my network and I haven’t looked back.
There are 810 million people on LinkedIn. I don’t think of all those people as strangers.
My go to is “There are people here for the wrong reasons, but there are more people here for the right ones.”
Do you think these Lego guys worry about what people here on LinkedIn think of them? Nope and neither should you!
