So why do so many people just use their job titles as their headline here on LinkedIn?
It’s a head scratcher.
Take that step away from using LinkedIn as an online resume and really sell yourself in that headline!
Which headline do you like better?
1. Business Development Professional
2. The word “No” doesn’t mean stop, I keep going until the answer is YES”
I would be more interested in having a conversation with the person who uses the second phrase.
There are companies who would love to have that determination and perseverance on their team.
I do understand that we need to use keywords in our headline to come up in search but when you customize that headline and really sell yourself and brag about yourself here, that’s going to stop people from scrolling.
I’ve followed or connected with people just because they have a captivating headline.
Think about it this way, if you were at a networking event would you just say “I’m an account executive” or would you say “I am leading my company in sales”?
There are 830 Million people here on LinkedIn and if you are trying to get more attention with your profile, choose your words carefully.
The headline is one of the first things people look at when they see you here. It follows you with every comment and with every post.
Make that headline a scroll stopper. If you need help, let me know.
