25 minutes after I reported the fake account, Twitter suspended it. Thank you Twitter for the fast work to keep the fake Deanna Russo people off Twitter! There is only one me, one Purple Squirrel Magnet. Never duplicated. 🙂
Where did “purple squirrel magnet” come from?
Thanks for asking! 😁
Back in June of 2019 I did a video about a purple squirrel.
That’s what inspired the nickname.
It was inspired by a discussion I had with a colleague while in my last position (in sales capacity for an IT company). I was specially focused on the recruiting side. Basically I sought out companies who we could help fill IT roles.
Anyhow, we were having a discussion about a role and he said “Oh, that’s a purple squirrel.”
To which I said “Wait, what???!!!”
He laughed and defined a purple squirrel role.
A purple squirrel is a niche position. So instead of a web developer, a purple squirrel is a Java web developer…see? Niche.
Anyhow I did the video, and it took off from there.
People called me “Purple Squirrel Magnet” and it stuck.
Even though I’m not in recruiting anymore, I’ve kept it. It’s become my brand.
I want to ensure that I am the Purple Squirrel Magnet who helps, in more ways than one!
Now that being said, there is an impersonator account on Twitter that I need help closing down.
Someone is pretending to be me who isn’t me.
Someone is impersonating me and it is upsetting but I’m determined to shut it down.
Who knows someone at Twitter who can help me?
