It’s a quote from the 1970s movie Kung Fu and it applies to the life of an entrepreneur too.
This was the perfect quote for what happened this afternoon.
I was impressed. This grasshopper stayed on the windshield wiper of my minivan for more than 2.5 miles. I could not believe it.
My speed reached up to 50 mph (Have you ever driven in Ohio? Yeah, some rules of the road just get ignored around here…but that’s for another post.)
When I stopped, he would adjust his legs and held on tight for the ride.
As I reached our neighborhood my mind started churning.
“This has gotta be a LinkedIn post.” Then it hit me.
This grasshopper is showing me that as a business owner and entrepreneur, I have to hold on tight.
The road isn’t always smooth. Life as an entrepreneur is NOT always like Shark Tank where business owners are rolling in the millions of dollars in their first 5 years of business.
You have to hold on tight because the road is bumpy, the road has twists and turns. The road has ups and downs. You have to navigate through all of it and hold on tight.
That grasshopper and I had a little chat as I parked in my garage. He jumped up to my windshield and is still sitting there an hour later.
Thank you grasshopper, message received.
