My Gift To You…Content Goodness!

by | Dec, 2023

Here’s my gift to you…

One of the biggest things I hear from my clients is “I don’t know what to post here.”

“Help me! I don’t know what to post!!!”

Ask yourself these questions:

  • “Who is my ideal client?”
  • “How can my services and what I’m selling help?”
  • “What sets me and what I’m offering apart from everyone else who does what I do?”
  • “What are the conversations I’m having?  Would pieces of those conversations make for a good post on LinkedIn.”  I’ll answer that last one.  The answer is YES.

Take us behind the scenes and tell us the stories of you and if you’re a business owner, your business!!!

People on LinkedIn LOVE stories.

When you talk WITH your audience instead of TO them, you’re more likely to resonate and relate.  Let’s have a conversation with our content!

LinkedIn is NOT Facebook.  It’s not Twitter.  It’s not Instagram.

If you’re posting the exact same thing on all the social media platforms.  I’m BEGGING you, PLEASE reconsider!

Why? LinkedIn is not like those other social media platforms. The game is not the same.

OK, I’ll spell it out for you.

I see this “Don’t” all the time on LinkedIn: People who are using WAY TOO MANY hashtags in their LinkedIn post. I mean, like loading on the hashtags.

There’s a better way.

There’s a better way!

It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality. STOP using so many!!! It’s spammy. Instead, use the hashtags that are relevant to what you are posting about. 3-5 is the sweet spot. You won’t see me using #LinkedIn if I’m not talking about LinkedIn.

Ready for more?

Let’s do this!

STOP SPAM TAGGING people! If I get tagged in someone’s post, I’ll comment WHEN what they’re saying directly applies to me. Tagging just for visibility??? STOP!

Time to change the way you’re thinking about posting content because you know what?  You’re not writing a book!

Online we have a VERY SHORT attention span.  You either got our attention or you don’t.

Building in white space into your content allows us to scroll through your post.  That doesn’t mean one sentence at a time.  It does mean, small short paragraphs of a couple sentences in each.  Keep your thoughts together whenever possible.

It’s not about you. It’s about them.

You don’t want your lead sentence to be “I, I, I or me, me, me or my, my my” BECAUSE a better way to relate with the people who need you or your services…

Is to put yourself in the shoes of that person.

So start with a hook – 2-3 sentences or lines of text – that puts yourself in those shoes because the ultimate goal is to get that person to click “See More”.

You are confusing us with your language!!1

Can we relate with what you’re telling us or are you using acronyms, words, and language that those of us outside of the industry don’t understand?

Speak the language that we all understand!
