Why are you following or connected to people on LinkedIn?
The answer probably depends on the person. I hope you know why you’re connected. When was the last time you told them why you appreciate them? Know what? Today’s a FABULOUS day to thank them!
“Why today, Deanna?” you ask?
In case you haven’t heard, today is February 14th! It’s the day to show the people who mean the most to you LOVE, and since LinkedIn, Leverage Up and love all start with the letter L, I’m encouraging you to go beyond your “Valentine” and DM the people here who you appreciate, show the love and gratitude.
What happens when you DM the people you appreciate the most?
- They feel appreciated
- Your DM could start a conversation
- You show that you are a real person expressing appreciation for another real person.
Here’s the reason why I’m suggesting you do this today. I’ve blocked nearly 700 people from engaging with me here on LinkedIn. Wait, why are you talking about blocking people on Valentine’s Day, Deanna?
Looking at the big picture, it’s really just a tiny percentage.
You see, I have over 29,000 followers here.
So what does that tell you?
That the majority of people are following me here for the right reasons.
They aren’t here to pitch me, they aren’t here to use LinkedIn as a dating site.
Nope, the vast majority, who are connected and following me, are here for the right reasons. People who are here to learn, to grow, and to build relationships. I don’t hear it often but I’m sure they follow me because they appreciate my content.
So TODAY tell the people you appreciate here why they mean so much to you. Do it today so they feel the love, you will feel good too.
Speaking of love, I’d like to express my appreciation. I truly appreciate each and every person in my network. I plan to DM people today too.
LinkedIn is a fantastic platform. LinkedIn is my jam. LinkedIn is full of so many amazing people. I’m feeling SO MUCH love for the people on LinkedIn today!
