Have you seen the Allstate commercial of the guy dancing and saying he’s the latest hashtag challenge?
“This is going to get tens and tens of views”.
First time I saw that one I laughed out loud.
I still smile every time I see it.
Many people on social media would say that they have a desire (some would even say it’s a need) to be viral.
Not me.
I don’t look at views of my posts, know what metric I like to watch? Comments.
My favorite posts are ones where the number of comments exceed the number of reactions.
The reason is I’m here to have conversations. Engagement is a fantastic way to get to know people.
The majority of people who voted in my latest poll asked for a tip about creating content on LinkedIn.
My tip is this: tell stories that create conversations on LinkedIn.
Ask questions when you post.
When you write posts that are filled with “Me, me, me, my clients, in my experience”…etc. etc.: Are you having conversations or are you yelling with a megaphone from the rooftop?
Bonus tip: Watch how you start it too because if those people don’t click “see more” they won’t read the entire post.
And whatever you do, always aim for tens and tens of views. 😂 (link to the video is in the comments)
