My kids’ first trip on an airplane. Their first trip to Walt Disney World.
In some ways it seems like yesterday and in other ways it seems like many years (decades!) since we took this trip.
I absolutely loved how these pilots took time out to talk to my kids…because… “Hello?! They were getting ready to fly an airplane!” Southwest Airlines remains a favorite because of what they did to make this special for my kids, and it wasn’t even anything big.
They made an announcement in the terminal mentioning all their names, gave them each certificates, and then this short but awe inspiring interaction with the pilots. All of it made my heart so happy.
Never underestimate the value of the little things, they make a big impact.
They all had such a blast on that trip, my son still watches “Disney videos” even three years later, so many amazing memories and pictures….I can’t wait until we take another family vacation.
Hopefully soon.
I’m not posting this asking for any Covid or pandemic related comments of why we haven’t traveled since then, I’m just posting it because I REALLY want to take a family vacation again.
I don’t count Buffalo trips as family vacation trips, even though we go as a family because it’s similar to going to visit the grandparents except we are staying there for a couple days.
I’m talking a family vacation where we can all enjoy, relax, and have fun.
It will happen, I know it will.
