That’s how one of the latest messages started.
Someone I know who is a Director of Marketing gets at least 5 of these messages either via DM or email a day.
They are sent by people who obviously keyword search, don’t look at his profile, and blindly send…because none of the services have anything to do with his business.
He doesn’t respond to any of them in hopes that they stop.
Thing is, the person who is sending these messages are wasting his or her time. If the sender would just look at his profile before sending, then that person would know that he isn’t a good fit for the product or service.
In order to get the most out of closing business here on LinkedIn, you have to be strategic and know something about that person before you blindly send the message or email.
You can do business in the DMs but sending the messages to people you don’t know (even though their job title has the magic keywords of your ideal client) is NOT the answer.
BTW, I’m not a fan of emailing people that you find on LinkedIn either.
I get those emails too. I don’t need a recruiter on demand.
