What should I post on LinkedIn?
I’ll answer that question with even more questions!
Who is your ideal client?
Who are you directing your content to?
What’s going on behind the scenes?
What conversations are you having at work?
What stories can you tell us about your company? About your business?
What can you teach us? We are here to learn!
If you can answer those questions, you have content that’s perfect for LinkedIn! Tell us the stories. Take us behind the scenes. Share those conversations with us. Related to us because we are humans just like the people you’re talking to off LinkedIn.
Now onto the next one…
“How often should I post here on LinkedIn?
My “go to” answer when I’m asked that one is…post content when you have something to say but stay consistent. Regardless if it’s once a week or more. Inconsistency will kill your reach.
OK, I’ll say it again. Inconsistency will KILL your reach. Whatever you do on LinkedIn, stay consistent.
I’ll tell you what I did. When I started posting videos on LinkedIn back in 2018, I posted on Tuesdays and Fridays and stuck to that schedule for over a year. Back then the number of people posting native videos on LinkedIn was minimal. I made a plan and I stuck to it.
Some people post once a week, some post every other day. Most post 2-3 times a week.
I won’t tell you how many times to post, but I will say when you make a gameplan, stick to it.
I compare posting on LinkedIn to a fine wine. Your content needs time to marinate, to get better over time.
Don’t forget to comment IN ADDITION to posting content. Have conversations and shake hands, you won’t get comments on your posts if you don’t pay it forward.
What about you? How would you answer these questions? Anything I’ve left out or would like to add?
