Do you ever like or comment on someone’s post here on LinkedIn just because he or she has a large following here?

If your answer is yes, please don’t. Or at least promise me you’ll think twice about it.

Listen, I really appreciate EVERYONE who engages with my content.

That being said, I’d rather have people comment (I’ll use reacting as an after thought because commenting is so much better) because they really appreciate what I said instead of going to “she has a large following and it will give me more visibility if I do”.

When I comment (and sometimes react) to posts here it’s because I honestly appreciate, relate to, and want to contribute to the conversation.

When I’m working with my clients on how to be more visible, NONE of the advice is “like and comment on this person’s post because he (or she) has 30,000 followers, 50,000 followers, or that post has 225 likes, time for you to comment”.

Comment because you want to.

Comment because you appreciate that content.

Don’t comment because you feel you have to to be more visible.
