Do you know what my biggest “Don’t” is for your LinkedIn profile?

by | Feb, 2022

DON’T copy and paste your resume summary statement to your About section.

PLEASE don’t do it.

15 years ago, I did it, I’ll admit it.

I know better now.

What should your about section be?

It should begin with a “hook” to get people’s attention and then tell your story.

Use the space to tell it. Start with the professional stuff first and end with the personal side.

Picture this, you are sitting in front of someone and he or she says “sell yourself” and asks you “What makes you unique?”

Thats the type of stuff you should put in your About.

Oh and if you don’t put all the contact info in at the end, you’re missing out on an opportunity because after all that selling, it would be a missed opportunity if you didn’t give people a good way to contact you.
