In one day I got two of “Please don’t do that” emails.
First, I got an email from someone who’s using LinkedIn as a dating site.
I’m happily married and even if I was looking, LinkedIn isn’t the place to look someone up and then email a proposition and pictures.
LinkedIn is not Tinder or any other dating app or website.
Please don’t do that.
Then I got an email from someone who wants to work with me to “fill my positions”. If he had done his research he would see that I’m not hiring.
I’m a solopreneur and I’m not looking to bring on Java or Python web developers.
He wasted his time sending me that email. He didn’t do his research.
Please don’t do that.
The good people who are here for the right reasons outnumber all the people who don’t know how to use LinkedIn the right way.
That’s why I shrug it off, post about them, report the solicitator, block them, and move on.
